Almost a New Year...

Goodbye 2012.

Hello 2013.

When I was little my grandfather would always ask me what my New Year's Resolutions were going to be.  I usually just wrote down the same things every year.  You know...be nice, not to fight too much, lose weight. Now that I'm older I wonder do I really NEED to make a list of Resolutions.  I mean I think I've changed enough...maybe it's time for some other's to do the changing.  Know what I mean?

I have always put down on my list to lose weight.  What is wrong with how I am?  My clothes fit me.  I'm a LOT smaller than I use to be.  One of my neighbor's even said to me the other night that I was "really looking good".  Okay, so he's an 82 year old man.  But he said it! lol

Be nice?  Ummmm... i am nice.  I let people ahead of me in line, I bring grocery carts back to the store for elderly ladies.  I listen to my friends, I do things (a lot) of things for my family.  AND most important of all I share my car with my 17 year old daughter.  If that's not being nice I don't know what nice is...and the car sharing also brings a LOT of patience with it.

The only fighting I really do is with the number of blankets i have on my bed, or the temperature in my car.  Well, okay, the radio volume too.  Said teenager and her freinds like to listen to "One Directions" as levels that are not safe for my mature eardrums.  But I figured that out!  Before I start the car I make sure that the radio is turned off!  That way I don't get blown away from beautiful singing of Louis and Liam.

I could be more organized in the New Year.  But what good would that do.  I mean I could have everything in it's place, but then I wouldn't have anything to organize or put away. So nope.  Not going to write that one down.  Besides a Crafter's Room is her paradise, her domain.  Her inner sanctuary.  Okay, I'm kidding you.  I don't think I can work in a clean room.  It needs to be a little bit messy in here.  And just to let you know...even if it a little messy (or a lot) i still know where EVERYTHING is.

Trying new things for the New Year?  Okay, I'm open to that one.  I LOVE to try new things.  And one thing that I would love to perfect is my Chicken Tikka Massala Recipe.  I'm SOOOO close to having it right.  Dh even says it's close.  And that what I make is good.  But I want it to be spot on. I ventured out to the Indian Grocery about two weeks ago and asked the owner for the Fenningreek Leaves that I NEEDED for my recipe.  I told him what I was making and how long I've been trying to perfect it.  He told that he didn't even know how to make it.  That made me wonder...shouldn't he know how to cook some dishes if he owns an Indian Grocery?  So that people like me can come in and ask questions?

I could go on and on about what I could do.  But what could other's do?  Well in all honesty i just spent about 20 minutes typing things that could be done around the house to make us all happier.  But I decided to delete it.  Why should I be the one to tell them what needs to be done.  They need to figure out on there own. Right?

So I sort of rambled on about my Resolutions for 2013.  I think there's only one thing to write...

My New Year's Resolution for 2013 is simple.

Be happy.

Nothing more.

Nothing less.

Just.

Be.

Happy.

Oh, and to get back on my diet!

Yes, Yes I am here. Starting to CREATE again! Right now my fingers are covered in my new Dyludions Inks that I purchased yesterday. It's amazing how a small brown bag of goodies from the Stamp Store can make a person happy! But it does! Just wanted to pop on to say that I am still here and I'm going to try and get my blog (and creating) going again.

Blog Repost Because They Have Moved it Again?

Awhile ago I posted the below blog entry into my blog because I was rather a "little" upset by people who think that the world revolves around them and their ideas, wants and needs (silly people).

Well I thought I would repost it again because well the "Powers that Be" for my 30th High School Reunion have decided that the New Date for the reunion is not good afterall. So now the new NEW date, is now the Old New Date?

"Some" people thought it was a good idea to move the date from the Old Old Date because they thought that the new NEW date would bring more people to the Reunion. Nope. Nada. Ain't gonna work. THe New OLD date is now not going to work either so it looks like the committee (of which one person sort of things revolves around their schedule and plans) has to find a New New NEW date. Following? Seriously, if this person just left well enough alone the old date would still be on the calendar and everyone would be making their plans to attend. But no. Now all travel plans have to be organized again.

What this one organizer (or two) should have brought into consideration is what do "OTHER" people need to do to get to the reunion, and "WHEN" is the best time to have the reunion. I can tell you the answer to that. It was easy. SUMMER.

Summer. The time of year when MOST people take off of work to visit FAMILY. And to this person (me) that FAMILY is in TALLAHASSEE. And I visit TALLAHASSEE ONCE a year. Not twice. But once.

There is SO much more that I would just LOVE to say, but I think that by my attidude right now sums it up. They should have just left things alone.

I do have one thing to add though...only one. When rescheduling the Renunion. Just make sure that you don't schedule it on the weekend of June 23rd. You know...that's the date it was originally scheduled. I NOW have plans...I'll be attending a Concert with my daughter.

And you know...why should I even want to go to the Reunion. What has changed in 30 years? Some people weren't nice to me back then, treated me as if I was an outcast or beneath them. I know that I have changed...but seriously by the way that things are going now I'm really wondering if they have.

Have a GREAT one!

Do you know what the BEST thing is about having a Blog?
Well? Do you?

I'll tell you what it is!

The best thing about having a Blog is that you can Blog about anything you want! ANYTHING!

And that is what I have chosen to do today.

A long time ago in 1982 I graduated from High School. Yes...1982. That would make me what? 24? Just go with it!

Anyway....fast forward to 2012. That's what 30 years? Yep. 30 years. Guess how many reunions i have been to. I'll tell you. The answer is 0.

Yes. Zero. Big Fat Zero. Nilch. Nada.

Why? well I can be honest and tell you that every year that a Reunion is planned I have something else going on. Yes...I do! Like MANY people I have to make arrangements to go to a Reunion. I have to get it on the Calendar, I have to make flight reservations, I have to make sure I have a place to stay, I have to make sure that my plans do not interfere with anything anyone else in my family has on the Calendar. And yes, there are a lot of other people that go to Reunions that have to do the exact same thing. I just can't jump in the car on any given weekend, drive down the road, and go to a Reunion. It takes planning. And lots of other people are in the same boat as me.

So....just go with this.

Imagine my excitement when I found out that My 30th High School Reunion was going to be on June 23, 2012. Yes, I was excited...I just MIGHT be able to make it to this one. I check my husbands calendar and he had no plans. I checked my daughter's calendar and she had no plans, and I checked my "hotel" in Florida to see if there were any openings (the hotel in question is also known as the parents house). Everything was looking in the right direction for me to go to my Reunion. I got a thumbs up from everyone. And I began to make plans! I put it on my Calendar. I told my daughter that she was going to go see her Grandparents, I was looking at flight reservations and I even put a Countdown Widget on my cell phone that reminded me of how many days were left until the Reunion.

My Countdown Widget started at 147 days.

Right now my Widget says 126 Days and it's about to be removed. Why? Well, because I might not be going to my 30th High School Reunion afterall.

Right now on Facebook there is a Poll about moving the Reunion from June 23 to "sometime" in October. And to me that sucks. (remember, it's my blog and I can say whatever i want). Many people have come to give there opinions on whether to move it or to keep it the same. It seem that there are more people who would agree to moving it rather than keep it where it is, and of those people I don't think many are from out of town. They are the ones who can just jump in there car and drive down the road.

Now yes, I understand that the people who live in the Town that I am going to have to make plans too...but you know this is MY opinion here and it's my opinion that they do not have to make as many plans as those of us that live out of state.

I make one trip home per year. One. My daughter sees her grandparents one time a year one. If I attended the reunion in October I wouldn't be able to visit in June, and my daughter wouldn't be able to see her grandparents for another year.

One reason for changing the Reunion date is that it's Homecoming Weekend at my High School. Do I care about this? Nope. I haven't been there in 30 years. What I do care about is seeing my daughter perform at HER High School Football Game.

Well...I really could go on and on and on about this (and I could, since it is MY blog) but I have some other things to do like cancel all my plans, get other things on the calendar and take that widget off of my cell phone.

Maybe I'll be able to go to my 50th Reunion. I don't know what it would really matter...since I haven't been able to go to any of them yet. And then I am reminded does THAT even matter?

I remember a very wise person saying to me once..."Is there anyone there you REALLY need to see?"....well I guess I can answer that. But, I won't.

2012.

January has been quite a Monumental Time at the Cornelius house. And February proves to be the same...

I'm saying that with a little laugh.

Once upon a time, I had a little girl. She was as cute as could be. I knew she would grow up and she has...SHE'S DRIVING!!! And next month she will be 17!!!

I made a layout of her and thought I'd share...

Said Teenager informed me last night that in one month she will be able to go and see Rated "R" movies by herself or with her friends...which made us both laugh!

We both remembered that she watched "Romey and Michelle" when she was five years old...yeah, didn't pay attention to THAT movie's rating!

She hasn't asked me for anything for her birthday other than redo her room...oh, and to have her cartilage pierced. Ummmm....NO! lol

But in all seriousness, Yes. I will do her room, since she is going to stay there until she turns 30.

Off to make some cards or a layout...thinking about opening an Etsy Store.

Have a GREAT one!
