SO MUCH going on!

Seriously! Not only is FiberScraps having a WONDERFUL contest! (www.fiberscraps.com) but there is also a scrapbooking garage sale this weekend in Richardson Texas. I'll be up there tomorrow getting things ready, and I have more stuff to bring! I'm selling all of my Quickutz Dies, and my Squeeze, my tag-a-long and my "Girls are Wierd" die set. And I'm thinking of selling my Zip-e-Mate too! (just have to get it out of the house without dh seeing it!)

About the "Picture of the Day" that I was doing, I really did have good intentions, but you know things happens and well, I have the pictures on my camera, it's just that I have to get them on here! And I would do it now, but this is going to be a quick entry!

If anyone is interested, I just listed an Auction on Ebay. What for this time? I'm going to sell the Maya Road Calendar that I made for the Maya Road Design Team Search. I'm not going to use it, so I thought about it last night and decided that I'm going to put it up for auction and let someone else enjoy it! Here are some pictures of the Calendar Album that I made. Blogger wouldn't let me put the pictures here, so they are up there somewhere! Oh, and there are 16 pictures total, and I could only post five here.

Gotta go for now, dinner needs to me made!

DFW Peas! Read this! Scrapbooking Garage Sale 11/9/06

I got this information off of 2 Peas in A Bucket (www.twopeasinabucket.com) (and yes, I'm participating!)

Magic Scraps is going to have one more of their infamous garage sales Friday, December 8th - Saturday, December 9th. Friday's hours will be from Noon - 6pm and Saturdays hours are 9am - 3pm. Cash and credit cards will be accepted.

This will probably be the BIG blow out and big stock clearing sale for Magic Scraps. There are incredible deals on cardstock, patterned papers, microbeads, tinsel (awesome for gift packaging - and just in time for holiday packages!) and every embellishment you can imagine. In addition to clearing out Magic Scraps inventory, Scrapbook University will also be clearing out much of their stock in addition to various local scrappers (and some who travel all the way from Austin to participate) clearing out their over stock and extra items.

At the last sale there were die cutting systems, dies (LOTS of Sizzix and QuicKutz), magazines, ribbons, chipboard, stamps and alterable items.

Now on to other news, yes I know I haven't posted my Picture of the Day for Saturday or Sunday, but I have them on my camera, as soon as I get dd back from her Choir Concert tonight I"m going to upload them...and plus I'll have today's picture too!

I still haven't been able to start my Christmas Journal, but I've printed out all the prompts so that I can get started this weekend when I'm scrapbooking! I've been really busy this past week! I surprised my husband with redoing our bathroom walls, now I just have to paint them!
I have a "to do" list of project also, but it's in the other room, I'll have to do that later too! But I did want to post the information about the Garage Sale!

Picture of the Day: 12/1/06

I've decided that for the Month of December I am going to try and take a picture a day. Good thing I remembered this tonight at 8:00. I thought to myself, "hey, I didn't take a picture!". "What am I going to take a picture of?" And it hit me. I was going to go to Starbucks and buy myself a coffee.

I used to have Starbucks all the time. That is, until I found out how many WW points there! (lol) So now I just have them every once in a while. And since it was cold tonight, and it was once in a while....okay, so I needed a picture too!...I told my daughter to get her jacket and get in the car because we were going to Starbucks! Oh, my daughter didn't mind because if I went to Starbucks that would most probably mean that I "might" get her something too. And well, since it was so cold outside I bought her a Peppermint Hot Chocolate.

I was also supposed to start my Christmas Journal today. I really am excited to start this class, but, well...I have all this other stuff that I have to finish this weekend. There is the bathroom that I'm redoing, the science fair project that is due on Tuesday (not mine, dd's!), and tomorrow my daughter and I are participating in a fun run. We have to be there at 7:30 a.m., uggh....I'd really like to sleep in! After all it's Saturday. But I told my daughter that we would do the Fun Run and then go out for a nice breakfast. Then it's back to work! I have to finish the bathroom by Sunday! I don't think I'm going to get to paint it. But the faux finish should be finished!

Oooh...back to the Starbucks, since it is my "Picture of the Day!" It was yummy! Nice and HOT! Yummy! I didn't tell you what it was...White Chocolate Mocha and of course I have to have the largest they serve....too bad they don't have a Jumbo!

Note to self, ask Starbuck's to make a Jumbo Size, Double Vente'

Until tomorrow with my Picture of the Day!

Starting Tomorrow!

Manifesto: Noun. A declaration of one's intentions.

Starting December first, I will keep a Christmas journal. In it, I will write something everyday to reflect on the holidays of my past, enjoy the holidays of the present and dream about the holidays of my future. To some, this will be a stack of papers and trivial scribbles, but not to me. I am taking back my Christmas, I am letting it be something I relish and, most importantly, I am giving at least fifteen minutes every day to myself no matter how crazy this season becomes. I hope you will share, encourage and understand as I make something with my own hands, my own words and my own memories.

I may post some or all of my entries here. Other artists are doing this with me,and you can see there work here here. Or you may join us.

Above all: enjoy the season. I will!

You have now entered the "Jill-Zone"! and "Happy Anniversary"?

Okay, so you may be wondering what the "Jill-Zone" is. It's sort of like the Twilight Zone but it has more to do with my returning emails! (lol). I go through my emails every day and I look at them and then I think "Oh, I'll send them one back later"...you guessed it! Later never comes, or else it does come but much later! Like 2 or 3 weeks later! But eventually I do get to them. It sometimes just takes me a little bit of time, and lately I just don't feel like rushing things!

Rushing. That's another word I don't like. I don't like to be rushed. And with Christmas how many days/weeks away am I rushing? Yes. I have successfully completed all the shopping for mine and my husband's family in two days. I started Saturday night and just finished a little while ago. I even have one load of presents boxes, and brought to the Post Office. I guess I was rushing there, wasn't I. It's just that I hate leaving things to the last minute. AND if I had to wait for my husband to go shopping with me it would NEVER get done! (lol).

So, now you know that I don't like the word Rushing, and that if you emailed me, your email is lost in the "Jill Zone" what else is there? Oh, yes. There is one more thing. Today is my wedding anniversary. Yes. It's been 13 years of marriage. 13 years of cooking, cleaning, and picking up stuff. And 13 years of receiving NOTHING from my husband. But that's okay...why? Well there is this other thing that I do and it's called Shopping. And well if someone, say my husband, forgets something say our Anniversay, then I go do the Something called Shopping. You would think that he would figure out that it would probably be less expensive for him to go shopping for me, than for me to go shopping to buy myself from him. You know what I mean??? So a Shopping I will go! (lol)

Isn't it nice that I'm at least in a good mood about this and can find the humor in it???

More to post later!

Just a little sad today....

For the past week I had worked on a project for a Design Team search. The deadline to get it to the company was Tuesday, and thank goodness I got my entry in, even with dd being sick and going to Doctor appointments (streph, yuck!) But I'm just a little sad today. Why? Well, because I didn't get a call. I LOVE my project and can't wait to share it with everyone, but it would have been nice to get call. Congrats to the ladies who did make it!

And you know when you are in a sad mood you really don't feel like doing anything right? Right! But I will show you what else I have been working on....here are three of my favorite layouts that I've done. Enjoy!

It's been awhile....

Since I've come to post on here and I realize that. I've been busy this month with other commitments. The biggest one is going to the gym. I've been going every morning (okay, don't count the one that I sat in the car listening to the radio, and not going in!) and sometimes at night too, yes twice in a day! I have a little routine that I am getting in to and I'm trying to make it a habit to follow! You know what they say, it takes three weeks to get a habit to stick so I'm almost there!

One of the things that I did this past month was do demo's for a FiberScraps! I LOVE FiberScraps and I love demoing for them! I have only demoed at two shows for them, but I think I really like it! The first show that I did was the Creating Keepsakes Convention in Tulsa, Oklahoma. This show was in August. I was TOTALLY scared of doing this and to tell you the truth, I didn't know if I "could" do it! I remember leaving my house that Wednesday morning to drive up to Tulsa and I was giving my husband a hug goodbye. He saw a scared look on my face and asked me what was wrong. I told him that I was scared of what I was going to do - demoing! He told me that I would be great at it and that he totally believed in me! I was really scared to go to the Convention but I knew it was something that I had to do! I got to Tulsa, helped set up the booth, did demos, laughed with people, talked with people and I had a WONDERFUL time! But that wasn't the convention that was in October was it! I really get side-tracked don't I!

The Convention that I went to this month was in Austin, Texas! Four hours south of me and luckily I got to stop at the Czech Stop on the way down. The Czech Stop is a little store that sells the yummiest Kolaches and Danishes! It's manditory to stop there whenenver I'm going down that way! I even thought of just driving there this past weekend! Back to Austin! I was more aware of what was expected of me at the Austin Show. I helped set up, I did demos, I showed people product and this time I even work the cash register which just totally scared me to work! And then I helped tear down the booth. Again I had a fabulous time and I can't wait to do it again!

Speaking of FiberScraps I'm going to post one of the projects that I have done for them so that you can see the wonderrful products that they have! The coaster is from Bazzill! LOVE BAZZILL! The first thing that I did was paint the Chipboard White with Acrylic Paint then I used the FiberScraps EZ Walnut Tintz in Lime and tinted the white paint. I used a strip of the FiberScraps paper and placed in horizontally in the middle of the chipboard and then used a flower stamp, applied the lime Tintz to it and stamped on the chipboard. On a separate piece of paper I stamped the flower and then cute out the center of the flowers that were stamped. I cut those centers out and then placed them on the stamped images that had been previosuly stamped onto the chipboard. I stamped one flower on an off white cardstock and then cute it out. I created a stem out of the FiberScraps Fibers and then attached the flower to that. Then added the center of the flower and put diamond glaze on it. I lightly sanded the letter stickers also from FiberScraps and then applied those to the coaster also. Then I used a FiberScraps tag and placed a flower that I made from Shrink Plastic and also put the Lime Tintz on those, I added some ribbon that I hand tinted with the Lime Tintz, tied the bow and I was done!

The owner of FiberScraps is really nice and she's really fun to hang around with too! When we found out that we were going to Austin she said that we would have to go and see the bats. Bats? Yes, bats. Austin has a bridge that is the home to a LOT of bats...I'm not sure of exact numbers here but here's a link for you to see what I'm talking about. http://austin.about.com/cs/bats/p/bats.htm. One of the restaurants that we went to was called "Threadgills" which is where we had Fried Green Tomatoes. Now, I didn't really want to try these. I mean "Fried Green Tomatoes"? Yes...that's what I said...well, to tell you the truth, they were YUMMY! And I would have loved to of had them again! Here is a link to Threadgills in case you are ever in the Austin area and want to go there: http://www.threadgills.com/

What else has happened in October? Well, it's Halloween, so I participated in a Secret Sister Swap on Two Peas In A Bucket. I had SO much fun teasing my secret sister! I just hope that she liked what I sent to her. I was going to make this really cute little album but I wasn't sure if she would have liked it so I decided to send product instead! Last night was our reveal party and I came in "costume" as someone else. But in the end I told her who I was.

Well, that's about it for now...It's Halloween Night, October 31 and I have to get dd ready to go Trick or Treating! I'm going to take her around to the houses and the husband is going to hand out the candy. I'm looking at the walking as if it were excercising! Hope everyone has a great night! And eat some Reese's Peanut Butter Cups for me!

My Creative Escape Clock!

This I think was one of my favorite projects!

Who am I kidding, I actually loved ALL of the projects, but you know, I really do love my clock!

I used a picture of the Eiffel Tower on mine because my husband and I went on a trip to Paris in 2000. Paris is a place that I really, really, really wanted to visit and well it just holds some special memories for me! So what better to remind me of those memories than a picture in my clock!

I'm going to finish up some of the other projects and post those as soon as they are done!

Ten Things I Love!

Just thought I would a write a ten things I love post!

10. I LOVE my car. Yes, I love my car! It's cute and blue, and sporty and has a little zip to it! It has a sunroof in it, and heated seats so in the winter if I'm a little chilly all I have to do is turn on the heater for the seat.

9. I LOVE my MP3 Player. Yes I DO!!! I can put on the earphones and be in Music heaven. Only problem is I don't know how to download songs to it yet...but I'll learn!

8. I LOVE watching TV with my kitty cats. Every night, or those nights when I sit and watch tv for a bit, my cats come and sit with me. It's like mommy time for them. And I try not to disturb them too much.

7. I LOVE My new washing machine. We just got it yesterday, it's a Duet from Whirlpool, totally cool machine, and dh likes to use it too, so far!

6. I LOVE my scrapbook room! Because it's the one room in the house that I can close the door and noone opens it unless they really need me!

5. I LOVE Fall! Yes! It's the beginning of cooler weather which means boots, and jeans and sweaters and scarves. I LOVE the winter too!

4. I LOVE snow. I know, Snow? in Texas? Well yes. It snows here once in awhile. Usually in February. But I love snow. It reminds me of when I was growing up in New Jersey, of when we would make ice forts and have snowball fights.

3. I LOVE contacts. (lol). My husband laughs at me for this one, because I hate wearing my glasses...he says I look cute in them, but then he doesn't like me to wear that much makeup, so what does he know! (lol).

2. I LOVE my friends. Yes, you guys I do love you all! (Chiara, Cindy, Kim, Kristin, Patty, Lauren, this means you!!!)

1. And above everything else I love my husband and my daughter. They don't need to buy me flowers, or gifts, or anything like that to show me that they love me. They show it in their actions, and the way they help me do things. Flowers are not needed at all (also, they just die and are a waste of money IMHO).

So that's it, my list of top ten things that I love...I probably could have done more, but ten was a good number!

Thank You Jeanne!

I just got my mail today and in the mailbox was a package for me. Last week on one of my Yahoo message boards there was a RAK (Random Act Of Kindness) that one poster was giving to one Creative Escape Attendee that did not get to go on the Bazzill Warehouse Tour. I REALLY wanted to go on that tour but my travel arrangements were changed. So, I didn't get to go! But Jeanne got to go! AND she bought an extra BAZZILL BLING T-Shirt that she was giving away as a RAK to the first person who emailed her their mailing address. I gave it a shot, and I won! So fast forward to today. I'm driving by my mailbox reach in and pull out the mail. I drive around back and go into my house. I walk into my scrapbook room, sit down and open the package. It was a manilla envelope. I knew what was in the envelope. But it was the little note that she had written that brought tears to my eyes. What did it say? It said simply, Happy Birthday Jill!!! Hugs! Jeanne.

So Why am I crying about this? Well, read below at the post previous to this one and you'll understand.

You see also, my "Special Day" for tomorrow isn't turning out like it should be already! Someone is changing my plans because he wants to have lunch with me, since he can't have dinner with me...that person is my husband. Uggh....I was going to go to a movie, but nope. I have to go and have lunch. It's supposed to be my day isn't it? It also looks like I won't be getting a manicure or pedicure either. The funds aren't there. I might just pack up my stuff and go scrapbook all day. I refuse to just sit here, doing nothing. Oh, and why can't dh have dinner with me? Because he has to help a friend out. It's my own fault I guess, I should have told him "No, I want you to have dinner with me." But I didn't. Why? Well, because he was helping out a friend, and you have to help out friends whenever you can! To make matters even worse! Grey's Anatomy's Season Premiere is tomorrow night!!! And I won't even be able to see that! Why? Well, because I'll be at a friend's Pampered Chef Party. (But I heard that there will be another airing of GA on Friday night, SO I'm all set to watch it then!

I had my plans all set and now they aren't set. They've all changed, and I'm not really happy about it! What I can do is MAKE THE MOST OF IT! I can have lunch with my dh, and dinner with my daughter. I can go to the Scrapbook Store and buy those stamps that I wanted to get! (charge card of course!) I'll tell my husband that they were his present! Yeah, that'll work!

But I will be happy, because it's my birthday and I am making the most of turning 22 again!

Birthdays....

In seven days it will be my Birthday. Officially it's at 11:30 a.m. on September 21. (I'm not going to tell you the year!).

I really don't remember have good birthdays. Something usually happens and I get disappointed. I know it's really nothing to worry about or get worked up over. But I don't understand how other people, even people in my own family get treated differently on their birthdays.

Take for instance when I was younger. My sister always had parties and stuff. Even when we were in Junior High, one of her boyfriends wanted to get some friends together for her birthday. Of course I was there, I had to be. My friends always had parties too, but me, nope. Don't remember parties. Just remember getting cards in the mail. I remember one year when it was my sister's birthday my grandmother sent her a suitcase full of presents, including a big, giant bag of M&M's. I figured, it's her birthday, of course she's going to get treated special. When my birthday comes around I'll be treated special too. But I never was.

Fast forward to my 40th Birthday. I was turning 40! That's a big step isn't it! (Especially since I was just in Junior High in the last paragraph!). Well, I guess I was expecting too much to have a party or some kind of celelbration, or even to spend the day with my friends. Nothing happened. I sat home, and did nothing. I think I even went to bed early. BUT! for my husband birthday his mom threw him a party! A party??? Yes, A Party! Cookout, Cake, Friends, EVERTHING! Must have been nice.

Last year for my birthday I was camping with my daughter's fifth grade class. I clearly told all of my friends that I would NOT be available to do anything on the day before, the day, or the day after my "official" birthday. I even told one friends that I wouldn't be available five times!
She, the friend even called me the weekend before I was to go camping to see if I wanted to go shopping (for her). I told her no, because I had to pack up all of the things that my daughter and I would need while we were camping. What do you think happened. The friends and three or four others met on my birthday and were wondering where I was, because they had a birthday cake for me. I told them I wasn't available. I told them I wouldn't be at the weekly meeting. SO, what do you think happened. They called my cell phone, and left me a message. The message went like this:

"Happy Birthday to You"
"Happy Birthday to You"
"Happy Birthday dear Jill"
"We're eating your birthday cake!"

And then:

"Where are you girl, we have your cake here for you."

Umm...didn't I say that I wasn't going to be available because I was going to go camping with my daughter? Ummm...yeah about five times if not more!

SO, that was that birthday.

Luckily I also have some other friends who DO remember what I say. And I had a nice celebration with them on the Saturday after I returned.

I think I am destined to have bad birthday Celebrations. The Kroger Bakery even messed up my 40th Birthday Cake. I was all color-coordinated with it in black and green. I went to pick up the cake and well, lets just say it really didn't look like it's picture at all!

What also upsets me is when you go out with a group of friends and they all have birthdays that you are supposed to be celebrating and you sing the Birthday Song to one person, and it's NOT you!

I'll get over it...

I always do!

BUT, this year is going to be a bit different. I am not going to sit at home waiting for anyone to do anything with me. I am going to go out and celebrate even if I have to do it all by myself. I've already got things mapped out in my head, and it's going to be a perfect day!

I'm thinking of buying myself a HUGE bouquet of flowers. Have lunch, where I want to have lunch. Get a manicure and a pedicure. Go to the Scrapbook Store and get something just for me. And I think I'm going to order Pei Wei for dinner and watch a movie.

Yes...this year is going to be different! I'll make certain of that!

Oh my gosh!!!

It's been nine days since I updated my blog! Well, I guess since I was out of town at CREATIVE ESCAPE that I'm forgiven this time! I really want to write about my CE experience, I want to tell you about the Volunteers, the teachers, Heidi Swapp, Mr. Bazzill and EVERYTHING! But it has to wait. You see...I had too much stuff to bring home and well I had to ship it back. So I'm waiting. Watching and waiting for my box from Bazzill to be delivered. It was supposed to be here yesterday but it didn't make it. But that's okay because I started to scrapbook again!

Over the weekend I discovered that there was something missing from my scrapbooking. Me. I wasn't have as much fun with my scrapbooking lately, it wasn't like it was in the beginning. I decided that I want my "hobby" to be fun! I came home, I've mostly cleaned out my scrapbook room and I started to create pages. I've come to the realization that not every page has to be a work of art! Not every page has to take me three or more hours! And not every page has to be perfect. I've decided to start scrapbooking again for me, for the enjoyment of it, and to get my pictures caught up! Okay, so I'm a "little" behind in my scrapbooking! (6 years!) and I think that that's caused by me trying out for this Design Team or that Design Team!

Speaking of Design Teams do you know how many Design Team Contests I have entered since last September??? At least nine that I can remember. NINE! And not one has been successful. So, I've also come to the conclusion that if someone, some Company, some Manufacturer wants me on their Creative Team then they can contact me. Over at Two Peas In A Bucket I have my Resume' linked as well as my Blog. Plus I can be pea-mailed. I'm tired of searching, I'm tired of competing, and I'm tired of not having fun. I'm tired of hiding out in my scrapbook room every night trying to re-invent the wheel. I'm tired of not being able to spend time with my daughter and husband. I figure if someone wants me on their team, well then they want me.

So about the Bazzill Box that I'm waiting on. It has ALL of my projects from Creative Escape. Well, except my clock that I made in Heidi Swapp's class. I need a picture for that. My pictures went missing right before her class. I don't know where they went. But, I was very upset about them and I almost didn't want to do the project without my pictures. But I did work on it. It's just about done! I just need my pictures! Better get it reprinted.

Well that's all for now. I think I'm going to go and scrapbook a few pages today! Have a great day! And hopefully my Bazzill Box will get here today!

Two More Days....

Two more days until Creative Escape! I can hardly wait! My girlfriends and I keep emailing each other back and forth about our trip. Two MORE DAYS!!!

So I think I finally finished my Rolodex Cards. I'm in this Rolodex Card Swap for CE and what we have to do is decorate a Rolodex Card. On the front is our favorite quote and on the back is our personal information. My quote is "Until One Has Loved an Animal, a Part of One's Soul Remains Unawakend". I love that quote! and it's totally true! I have had so many furry friends in my life and they have all loved me as I have loved them! If you take a peek at my gallery over at 2 Peas In a Bucket you will see how much I love my friends! Here is a link to my gallery: http://www.twopeasinabucket.com/userprofile.asp?user_id=41475

Not only do I have cat pages, but I also have some albums covers that I've made, some homemade cards, and yes some purses too. For some reason I love to decorate things! So glad that my husband can put up with my obsession!

So back to the Rolodex Cards...here they are. The front is pretty much decorated but the back is sort of plain. I didn't include a picture here, becasue well that part really isn't finished and well, I might not finish them. But the front is DONE!

I better get back to work now. I just have a few more things to do before I pack my clothes and leave for Creative Escape. And one of those things for today is going to be taking a nap!

Have a great day!

I like this picture...

Because it shows the twill that I hand stamped and the ribbons close up. I can't wait to use this purse!

Number Four of the Pink Purse.

Here is a pictures of the top of the purse, the handle and all of the ribbons and twill that I have attached to it. There is a safety pink holding some ribbons and twill to the purse handle. I stamped Heidi Swapp and Bazzill onto the twill. Each has there own side, and between each section of words there is a flower stamp. One side has a pink flower and one side has a brown flower. In the center of each flower is a tiny pink rhinestone.

Photograph Number 3 Of My Creative Escape Purse

This is the side view of the purse. Both sides are the same. There are four Heidi Swapp Flowers on the sides. Each flower has a Bazzill Chipboard Circle in the center with Heidi Swapp Tape over top of it. The sides of the Bazzill Chipboard Shapes have ink on them to match the purse color.

Well that didn't work very well!

I was trying to attach five different pictures of my purse, but they didn't wanted to go. So, I tried something else and it still didn't work. I'm going to have to do four more posts so that each pictures can be attached. Here is an inside view of the purse. I used the same Heidi Swapp paper on the inside as I did on the outside. I was just going to paint the inside brown but I think this looks a lot better!

Here is my Creative Escape Purse!

I think I'm finished with it finally! Well, maybe. There is still the bottom of it that I want to do something with.

I'm sort of glad that it's almost done, because I still have to get my pictures, gifts, Rolodex Cards and stuff ready for my trip. But I also have to go grocery shopping and cook some things so that my husband won't starve!

Off to make my to do list!

One More Day Closer!

That's right, one more day closer to Creative Escape! I can't wait to see my friends, Chiara, Kim and Cindy! I haven't seen them since October of 2005. In fact that is when we first met, at CKU-A Stamford. Guess what track we were in! Yep! "She" by Heidi Swapp.

SO since I was thinking of CKU-A Stamford and when I met the girls I thought I would post another project that I did around the time of our meeting. This is a purse that I made out of a Dora the Explorer lunch box that I bought from Hobby Lobby. I made one for Cindy too, hope she liked it. And wait until she sees the purse that I made for Creative Escape! And it's the only one like it! Sneek Peek Tomorrow??? Maybe!

10 Days and Counting!

Ten days and counting. What am I counting for? Creative Escape of course!!! (creativeescapeaz.com). This is the first of what I hope is many Creative Escapes with Heidi Swapp!

I have ten days to go until I meet my friends at CE and I can't wait to see them! We haven't seen each other since October of last year, when we met! But everytime I read one of their emails I imagine they are talking to me. Hmmm....on second thought it could just be voices!!! (lol).
So with Creative Escape being so close (ten days to be exact) I figured that I had been get cracking on my projects. I have almost finished my Rolodex Cards for the Rolodex Card Swap, I'm almost done making this purse that I think is really cute! And, I have two out of 9 Clipboard almost done! I was making pretty good progress on the clipboards until I ran out of twill! So I'm off to buy more twill tomorrow, as well as ribbons that I need too!

Here is a pictrure of the clipboard so far. I might add one other thing to it, but I have to figure that out! I'll post a picture of the purse tomorrow night. It's drying right now, and I'm afraid if I touch it I'll ruin it!!!

So back to the clipboards. When I originally decided to do these (ten originally) I was going to just paint them pink and have some ribbons or something on them. But then I decided that there needed to be another color on them. So I placed a Heidi Swapp Mask on top of the pink and sprayed Brown Spray Paint over the Mask. After the paint was dry I put a name (my roommates!!!) on the bottom left of the Mask. I chose ribbons that I thought would look good with the paint and the Mask Design. But then I had an idea to decorate the Twill with "Creative Escape". I stamped on side and then looked at it. If I tied it onto the clipboard the side that didn't have any stamping would show, so of course I had to stamp the other side too! So notice that I said I was originally going to do ten? Guess what happened to the tenth one. I kept it of course!

Thanks for looking!

I've decided that since all my friends now have blogs to keep in touch with their friends and family that it's about time that I did too. As they say, "When in Rome, do as the Romans do" and "Since they blog, do as the blogger's Do Too!"

Most of my friends are scrapbookers. Big surprise? No, not really. Since Scrapbooking is my hobby it wouldn't be much of surprise for me to have them as friends too! Scrapbookers are the most friendly people that you could know, as least to me. So I decided that my blog is going to be a place where I can show everyone what I have been working on, it's going to be my place. Everything will be brought to you by the letter {J}!

Keep checking back in the next few days as I will be updating with three projects that I have been working very hard on: (1) A Purse for me! (2) Rolodex Cards for a Swap that I am participating in for Creative Escape and (3) some little gifts that I am making for my friends that I am meeting at Creative Escape (I just hope they like them!)
