Ice Cream? Well almost...

I think one thing that everyone can agree on is that "it's Hot".

Summer has begun and it's hot.

And when it's hot outside, I have a tendency to do a few things that might include going to the pool, or going to sit in Starbucks because it's like a fridge in there or even staying inside my house and closing all the blinds to make it seem cooler to me.

For my Second project for the Month of June I decided to dedicate it to things I love to have as treats in the Summer.  Mainly Ice Cream and an iced Latte' from Starbucks :-)

My First Photo shows all of the items i made.  And guess what!  They aren't just images to use on scrapbook pages....they're cards!  So you can use them for Birthday Invitations, Ice Cream Party Invitations, or you can add a little pocket on the inside and make them Gift Card Holders.  I made the Ice Cream Cone Shaped Card, The Ice Cream Bar Shaped Card (in both Chocolate Covered AND Dreamsickle, and then I made a Latte' Cup Card because I saw that file and thought it was cute!  :-)

And just like that! It's Summer!

Summertime!

Lemonade Stands....Swimming....Beach....Scrapbooking?

Yes, Scrapbooking.

During the Summer, just like you, i have LOTS of things going on.  But since it's so hot during the day I usually stay inside.  Which means:  Scrapbook Time!

This month for my First Project i decided that it was about time to do a Scrapbook Page!  My Scrap Chick has lots of SVG files that you can use for Scrapbook Pages.  But, did you know that they have Scrapbook page SVG files too?  Well, they do!

Now, before i show you my layout you have remember this.  Each SVG file can be customized to fit your specific project.  Which means, if you don't like the size.  Change it.  What if you don't like the color that i show you in my project?  Change it.  Do you want to add some other items to your page?  Add them!  That's what I LOVE about SVG Files!

So with that being said, here's my latest project:  "Under the Sea"

Here's a close-up of the title, i added Orange Glitter to the words to make it sparkly!  Also, did you look at the fish and the Starfish?  They have googly eyes!  I LOVE googly eyes!

Now, you might look at this layout and think...."eh...that's really simple".  Well change it up!  Add more scallop waives, add metallic paper or glitter paper instead.  Give the Mermaid a makeover and give her red hair instead and make her look like "The Little Mermaid".  SVG files are the best!  Because you can customize!

Here are the files for the Scrapbook Page:

Happy Birthday to my Dad!

This past week it was my dad's birthday.

Don't ask me how old he is because i have NO idea.

You know how it goes...your parents get older, and so do you and you don't really think about age anymore.  Yeah, that's me!  All I know is that I am in my early 20's and my dad is probably around 40-something.  And if you believe that then I have some beachfront property to show you in Nebraska.  :-)

But back to the Birthday Card.

In my family everyone is usually late in sending their cards out.  It's just a family thing.  But we all know that everyone is thinking of everyone else on their birthday.

But, what my dad doesn't know is that for the FIRST TIME EVER I MADE him a card.  Yes, you heard that right....I have never made my dad a Birthday Card before.

Isn't it pretty!

I have to say I really think it is!

And I hope he likes it! (when i finally get to sending it to him)

The great thing about this birthday card is that you can make one and totally customize the colors.

I chose green, black and blue because those were the colors that were in the Chevron Striped paper.

The card is super easy to make (I think i'm going to make a tutorial on this card this weekend, it's easier to show you how in photos than it is to explain, but it's SUPER Easy!)

The first step was deciding what kind of card I wanted to make.  I knew this...I wanted to make a shaker card with LOTS of sequins in it!  (sorry dad!).  And I knew that I wanted the window to be an oval.  Simple!  I chose the following card (E17)  from the "Envelope Essentials with Ten Bonus Cards" file.

Here's the list of files I used to make the shaker card:

Have you looked at this file?  If you like to make shaker cards then this is the file for you!  And it's only $5.00!

24 ENVELOPES:
4 solid envelopes with decorative flaps and 20 envelopes with flaps and cutout windows as shown in photo.
Envelopes measure
3-1/2" x 4-1/2"
but if enlarged by 130% they will fit an A2 size card.
17 WINDOW CARDS
Folded cards with cutout windows to fit envelopes.
Plus 10 Bonus Note Cards

And a message to my dad.  Happy Birthday!

Happy Mother's Day Weekend!

This Sunday, May 14 is Mother's Day.

And if you're like me, well...you buy yourself something nice!

This year i decided to make myself something that i thought was cute (to me at least!)  It's not really a Mother's Day project, but more or less a project that i had been thinking about for awhile.

"You are my Sunshine"

When i showed my daughter my project she smiled and asked me where her picture was.  Because she says "I am your Sunshine!".  Silly girl...lol

For this project i used a 12 x 12 Wood Frame that i purchased from Michael's and painted it solid Black.  I thought about glittering the frame, but i didn't.  I still might!  Because I am a glitter loving girl! And of course if and when i do glitter it will be of course Black glitter!

I downloaded the SVG files that I have listed below.  I used all at the downloaded size, except for the 12 inch Scalloped Square.  Since the Box was 12 Inches to start with, the Scalloped Square was too big to fit in and have a border.  So I just shrunk it down a bit to show that there was Black Paper behind the Blue.

I rarely use the entire SVG File.  I'm more of a "parts" person.  Here is a list of "Parts" that i used from Each of the files.

Love is in the Air Card:  Clouds
Hello Sunshine Shaped Cards:  Sunshine
Your Are My Sunshine Words Art:  Words only
Scalloped Squares:  12 Inch Scalloped Square resized slightly to fit in box and allow a border.
Mento:  Flower

The SVG Files I used for this project include the following

Hello Sunshine Shaped Card

I hope you enjoyed my project!  I LOVE making things that make me smile and this was certainly one of them!

Have a Great Weekend AND a Great Mother's Day!

Hello!

Happy Thursday!

Time for me to share another project for My Scrap Chick!

Whenever I go through the files at My Scrap Chick and try to decide on a project to create, I always look at files that i can change.  Even if it's only the color combination.
I also look to see what files i can combine with others. even if it's only borrowing one item from that file.

This time I made a card...I know...I usually don't make cards.
But I though i'd give it a try this time around.

And for this card i decided to use the Haunted House Easel Card

I know what you're thinking...Haunted House?
Ummm...it's not Halloween...It's not October.
It's April..and we just celebrated Easter.

"What ARE you thinking!!!"

Well what I was thinking was...
"I wonder what that Haunted House would look like in
Spring Colors?"

So I made it.

But of course i didn't just use the Haunted House Easel Card File. Like is said earlier, I combine different parts of files that I think would coordinate with each other.  I've included a complete list of which files I used down below, as well as direct links to those files.  I hope your like my card!

P.S....my daughter thinks I should add some glitter to it.  Which I probably will, but glitter doesn't photograph very well :-)

Happy Creating!

Happy Easter!

There are times when the projects you create just bring a smile to your face!

And this is one of those times :-)

I've been wanting to create something with these little house boxes and i finally had the chance!

I know that creating a Bunny Village isn't a NEW idea.  And that's okay!  But i wanted to create one just for me, in colors that i wanted it to be made in. Green,  Brown, Pink (of course) with a hint of Blue and Yellow.

(list and links to files used are all down below)

When i was putting the Country Village Tall House Box together i thought "wouldn't it be really cute to have a bunny peeking through the window?  I thought it would!  So for the first house that I made I had a little bunny peeking through one side of the window.

And then I thought again to myself as i was making the Country Village House Box..."wouldn't it be cute if I had another bunny looking out the window again" and I answered to myself "of course it would!"  But he had to look out of the window straight on, as if he was looking straight at you".

And then when i was making the third Country Village Small House Box I knew what i had to do.  I HAD to have a third bunny peeking out the window at an angle as if he was say "hey bunny peeps!  What's up?"

As you probably noticed the Country Village House Boxes are not the only files i used.  As i noted above here is a complete list of files used as well as the direct links to those, so that you can make a Bunny Village too!

Country Village Small House Box

As i was writing my Blog Post i was thinking, "These files can be used to create ANY kind of Village".  Christmas, Halloween, Birthday, there are SO Many you could make!  Just like my Monthly Box idea these can be customized for ANY Holiday! Do you get the feeling that you will be seeing thse files again?  The Answer:  Definitely!

Until Next Time...Happy Creating!
